WHO ARE WE?

Lisa Hayter

Lisa has been working with children, young people and vulnerable adults for over 25 years. Initially training as an actor  and working in fringe theatre, she went on to co-run a Community Theatre Company which specialised in putting on community workshops and plays.

After completing an Open University degree in Literature, she became Chair of Governors at her local primary school before re-training and working as a Primary School teacher for a number of years. Lisa then returned to the counselling skills she had begun to develop in her early twenties, as a Samaritan Volunteer.

Lisa is counsellor and psychotherapist (MBACP)  and has recently worked at METRO with clients who identify as LGBTQ+. She also works as a Supervisor at ChildLine and has a vast knowledge of supporting both Volunteer and Staff Counsellors, as well as assessing Child Protection situations; she has also been a Social Work Practice Assessor. Lisa is an experienced trainer of counselling skills and other issues such as suicide, self harm and loss. She has delivered Child Protection training in the public sector for ECP.

Belinda Hollows

Belinda has been using listening skills throughout her working life. After a 14 year career in radio and television sound she was inspired to change careers after training to be a ChildLine counsellor and has worked in the field of adult and child mental health for seventeen years.

As a qualified psychotherapist and counsellor registered with UKCP and BACP, Belinda has experience of working in vast range of settings, including: education; mental health; substance misuse; prisons; staff coaching and LGBTQ charities. As a ChildLine supervisor she created and delivered counselling training for ChildLine counsellors and became an expert in safeguarding; child protection and suicide prevention. As an experienced manager of staff and volunteers Belinda understands the value of listening skills in workplace relationships.

Belinda currently works as a counsellor/ psychotherapist in private practice and as a supervisor and trainer in the education and voluntary sectors. She is an associate assessor for ILM coaching and mentoring courses with People face2face and is also a child protection /safeguarding trainer with ECP.
